Personalizing Your Pad: Mary Shaw's Manor

  • Red, long, velvet curtains
  • Oil lamps (fake ones are probably safer)
  • Dusty long old vintage mirrors
  • Ventriloquist dummy sat on a rocking chair
  • Red lights
  • Flickering candles on long black or rusted candle holders
  • Old theater chairs
  • Long tattered white lace drapes
  • A cabinet filled with pot dolls/general creepy dolls (they could be hand sewn or anything)
  • Old fashioned vases filled with dead/black/dark red flowers
  • Old fashioned, leather bound back & vintage books from the fifties. In fact, vintage bits & bobs, everything from the 50's - anything you can find like old plasters, brand food packets etc.
  • A Victorian photo album. Edit all your favourite pictures to look sepia toned & creepy and put them in it and leave it on the side.
  • Scent the room with cade oil (this smells old and musty to me), or to what you think a haunted house smells like.
  • Sinister circular portraits in elaborate gold frames.
  • A gilded bird cage, paint flaking off with a fake dead bird inside
  • Second hand/damaged crystal chandelier with crystals missing, flickering dim lights, draped with cobwebs
  • A deep red/brown musty old carpet with a floral pattern, frayed at the edges
  • Tea cups filled with dark beads/pot pourri
  • Vintage mannequins covered in cobwebs
  • Dusty old dark leather trunks filled with old newspapers & sketchbooks filled with doll designs
  • Worn out vintage posters in frames on the walls
  • A vanity unit with bright bulb lights bordering around the mirror, a cracked vintage floral hand mirror on the table top, a jewellery stand with rusted cameo, gold/bronze & dark bead jewellery hanging from it, old fashioned perfume bottles filled with unusual heavily floral scents (like rose for instance), a grey quill sat in an inkwell filled with red ink, filligree look vintage photo frames with your latest victims inside (photoshop images of friends), black and brown striped/white floral teapot, and gold coasters.
  • Wallpaper in dark red, blue or brown with a striped, floral or leaf pattern, holes/stain marks here and there.
  • Damask pattern yellow and deep brown curtains.
  • Fake fireplaces with black iron guards.
  • Elaborate filigree door handles
  • Worn chaise lounges/french themed couches.
  • Glass jars filled with doll parts (arms, legs, eyes, heads)
  • Fringed white & antique cream lampshades
  • Old grandfather clock
